My name is Rhett Rosenquest Smith, and I'm committed to making your voice heard on Capitol Hill. Like you, I want to play an active role in making my community, state and country a safer, better place to raise my children, run my business, and forge a future filled with unlimited promise.
If you share my vision, I urge you to connect with me and help make it happen! Together, we can make a meaningful difference-- for our families, our communities, and our country.
My father, a Navy Lt Cmdr, Willis Garrett Smith, interred Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. My mother, Ruth Rosenquest Smith, retired Executive Secretary Eastland National Bank, worked at Army Air Corp Training Command during WWII.
I graduated Outstanding Student, Class of 1968, Eastland High School, Eastland, TX. I continued on to receive a BA at UT Austin in accounting. I immediately went to work for the Texas Department of Human Services. From there, I moved on to enlist in the US Navy, serving for four years.
I have been active in the Libertarian Party since 2014, and serve on the Executive Comittee of the San Antonio NAACP, the board of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, and co-founded Veterans for Education Reform.
